Repository Policy
Journal of Power, Energy, and Control (PEC) supports the dissemination and sharing of knowledge through the use of institutional and subject repositories. We encourage authors to deposit their research articles in appropriate repositories to maximise the visibility and impact of their work.
Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit versions of their work in their own website, institutional repository, or other repositories of their choice. This includes:
- Preprint (Pre-peer-review) Version:
- Authors may deposit the preprint version of their manuscript in any institutional or subject repository.
- The preprint should include a statement that it is a pre-peer-review version of the manuscript and, once accepted, should be updated with a link to the final published version in PEC.
- Postprint (Post-peer-review) Version:
- Authors may deposit the postprint version (the final peer-reviewed manuscript, but not the publisher's formatted PDF) in any institutional or subject repository without any embargo.
- The postprint should include a citation of the published article in PEC and, where possible, a link to the journal's website.
- Published Version (Publisher's PDF):
- Authors may deposit the publisher's PDF (the final published version) in any institutional or subject repository immediately upon publication.
- The published version should include a citation of the article as it appears in PEC and a link to the article on the journal's website.
Compliance with Funding Requirements
We recognise that many research funders require authors to deposit their work in open access repositories. Our repository policy is designed to help authors comply with these requirements. Authors can deposit any version of their manuscript as required by their funding agency, provided that proper attribution is given to the published article in PEC.
Benefits of Repository Deposit
- Increased Visibility and Accessibility: Depositing your work in repositories ensures that it is accessible to a broader audience, increasing the potential for citations and impact.
- Compliance with Open Access Mandates: Many funding agencies and institutions have open access policies that require repository deposit. Our policy supports compliance with these mandates.
- Long-term Preservation: Repositories provide a stable and long-term archive for your work, ensuring its preservation and ongoing accessibility.
