Bulletin of Engineering and Society (BES), is a new peer-reviewed and open-access journal which is published by MSD Institute. This journal is planned to be published biannually on June and December, starting in 2026.

BES focuses on publishing research articles and case studies related to practical engineering solutions for community development; technology implementation in societal contexts; and engineering products addressing real-world challenges. Please see our detailed focus and scope here. The journal welcomes manuscripts in both English and Bahasa Indonesia. We use Free Format submission policy, designed to streamline the manuscript preparation process. We encourage all authors to thoroughly review our guidelines before submitting their work through our online submission platform.

All submissions to BES will undergo a structured single-blind peer review process. After initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor for scope, formatting, and ethical compliance, suitable manuscripts are assigned to an academic editor for scientific assessment. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts, selected based on subject expertise and with no recent collaboration with the authors. Reviewers provide confidential, objective feedback. Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the editorial decision may be: accept, minor revision, major revision (with re-review), or reject. A maximum of two major revision rounds is permitted. Authors must respond to comments in detail. Rejected authors may appeal by submitting a justification and point-by-point response. Appeals are evaluated independently and finalized by the Editor-in-Chief. All accepted papers proceed to professional editing before publication. Please read the complete peer review process here.
